| Opis awersu | The People's Republic of Bulgaria coat of arms — a rampant lion within a circular wreath of wheat ears, surmounted by a five-pointed star and inscribed with the date 9.IX.1944 — is set in an intaglio medallion to the left against a fine guilloche underprint in orange and teal. To the right, the large numeral «500» appears within an elaborate lathe-work vignette, with the denomination in Cyrillic lettering below. Flanking the central scene are two large guilloche rosettes, each bearing the numeral «500», set against a fine multicolour underprint of interlocking wave patterns. The bank name in French arches across the top of the central vignette, and a forgery-warning legend in Cyrillic is contained within a dark panel at the lower centre. |
