| Obverse description | Armored bust of Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg facing left, wearing his characteristic crested helmet surmounted by a goat's head, with a flowing beard rendered in fine detail. An olive branch appears to the left of the bust and an oak branch to the right in the field. The arc legend SHQIPËRI·ALBANIA curves along the upper rim within a beaded border, while the dates 1468 and 1968 flank the bust in the mid-field, commemorating the 500th anniversary of Skanderbeg's death.
