Beschrijving voorzijde	Two allegorical female figures in Romanian folk costume frame the central guilloche medallion: at left, a seated woman holds a distaff, while at right, a seated woman cradles an infant at her breast. The large intaglio vignette is rendered in a classical academic style after Serveau's painting, with the denomination "500" appearing in each upper corner and the bold letterpress legend "CINCI SUTE LEI" across the upper centre. Signature lines for the Governor, Director, and Chief Cashier appear in the lower centre field.

Beschrijving keerzijde	A richly coloured vignette after Serveau depicts two peasant women in traditional Romanian dress standing in a mountainous landscape, one carrying a hoe over her shoulder; the Romanian state coat of arms supported by two rearing lions appears in the upper centre. An ornate guilloche border with folk-art motifs frames the entire composition, and a banknote text panel containing the forgery-warning legend occupies the lower centre. The denomination "500" is repeated in the upper left and right corners.
