Comments

Myanmar's Central Bank introduced this denomination as part of a broader reissue program updating the post-2010 series with revised security specifications. The 500 Kyat sits in the middle of the circulating range and turns over frequently in daily transactions — a denomination that wears hard and fast in tropical humidity, which makes uncirculated survivors more common through deliberate hoarding than through light use.

P#85 postdates the 2011 constitutional reforms that rebranded the issuing authority back to "Central Bank of Myanmar" from the earlier "Union of Myanmar" designation, a bureaucratic shift that collectors use to anchor the series chronologically.
