Beschrijving keerzijde The central field displays a composition of three symbolic objects representing religious and cultural rights: a stylized African tribal mask with ornate headdress stands upright to the left, an open book lies at center-right symbolizing religious scripture or knowledge, and a tied scroll rests in the foreground representing cultural heritage and written law. The multi-line legend RIGHTS OF RELIGION & CULTURE is inscribed in bold serif lettering occupying the upper right portion of the field. The design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field.

Aanvullende informatie

Part of a broader wave of thematic commemorative issues Zambia produced through the early 1990s as the country transitioned from Kenneth Kaunda's one-party UNIP state to multiparty democracy following the 1991 elections. The rights-themed series reflected the new political mood under Frederick Chiluba, whose Movement for Multi-party Democracy had campaigned explicitly on civil liberties platforms largely suppressed under the previous government.

Struck to standard modern commemorative specifications by a contract mint, not the Bank of Zambia's own facilities.
