The University of Zagreb, founded in 1669 by a royal charter of Leopold I, is the oldest continuously operating university in Southeast Europe. This issue commemorates its 350th anniversary — a milestone the institution reached in 2019, making the 2020 strike the official commemorative response from the Croatian National Bank.
Notably one of the final gold commemorative kuna issues before Croatia's euro adoption process accelerated toward its successful January 2023 changeover.
