The figure wears a monastic habit and a nimbus with a cross. The commemorative legend ŠEST STOLJEĆA SVEUČILIŠNE NASTAVE U ZADRU (Six Centuries of University Teaching in Zadar) arcs around the full periphery of the coin in the outer border. The founding and commemorative dates 1396–1996 appear in the lower exergue in Arabic numerals.
