| Obverse description | The obverse is centred on a three-quarter portrait of journalist and national activist Carl Robert Jakobson (1841–1882) executed in intaglio, set against a purple and violet guilloche underprint. The issuer inscription EESTI PANK appears at upper left alongside a circular rosette vignette, while the large numeral 500 and denomination text KROONI occupy the upper right; a central vignette reproduces the masthead of the newspaper Sakala in stylised script, flanked by signature panels inscribed PRESIDENT and NÕUKOGU LIIGE respectively. The serial number and year of issue 1994 are printed to the right. |
