Bradbury Wilkinson printed this series across a twelve-year window, with individual notes dated by hand or by the issuing bank rather than at press — a span long enough that paper batches and ink formulations visibly shifted between early and late examples. The series preceded Iceland's major currency reforms of the early 1980s, which replaced the króna at a rate of 100 old to 1 new, rendering the entire P#45 run obsolete almost overnight.

Designer Ragnar Lárusson worked on several Seðlabanki commissions during this period. Bradbury Wilkinson's New Malden facility was handling sovereign commissions across multiple continents simultaneously, and Icelandic orders were relatively modest in volume.
