Obverse description Intaglio portrait of Ľudovít Štúr, Slovak linguist and national revivalist, occupies the right half of the note, rendered in fine line engraving against a multicolour guilloche underprint with diagonal bands of gold and blue. The denomination "500" appears in large numerals at upper right, with the vertical inscription "PÄŤSTO SLOVENSKÝCH KORÚN" running along the lower centre. At lower left, a green optically variable ink emblem of the Slovak double cross is printed in intaglio.

Reverse description Bratislava Castle is rendered in detailed intaglio engraving at centre, set against a multicolour guilloche background with diagonal light-beam motifs in blue and gold. A historical globe instrument and ornamental architectural elements frame the castle vignette, while the Slovak coat of arms — a double cross on a three-peaked mountain — appears at lower centre right. The denomination "500" is printed in large numerals at upper right and lower left, flanking the issuer name along the right margin.
