Obverse description Printed in brown, pink, and light blue tones, the obverse carries an intaglio portrait vignette of Ľudovít Štúr, the Slovak linguist and national revivalist, occupying the right-centre of the note against a fine guilloche underprint. The large numeral '500' appears to the upper right, with the vertical inscription 'PÄŤSTO SLOVENSKÝCH KORÚN' running along the left side. A windowed security thread is embedded diagonally across the note, and the engravers' credits appear in small lettering at the lower portion of the vignette.
