Issued as part of the Lao PDR's ongoing lunar series, this piece corresponds to the Year of the Goat in the sexagenary cycle — 2015 marking the year Bing Wei, the 32nd in the 60-year sequence. Laos has produced these small-format gold issues primarily for the export collector market, with negligible domestic circulation demand given the country's economic structure. The .9999 fineness places it among the purest gold issues in the series.
