Obverse description A detailed frontal view of Pha That Luang, the iconic gilded Buddhist stupa and national symbol of Laos, rendered in high relief at the centre of the field, flanked by decorative vegetation and lamppost finials. The legend BANK OF THE LAO PDR arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded border, while the fineness designation 20g and Ag999 appear to the left and right of the stupa respectively. The denomination 500 KIP is inscribed in large letters along the lower rim within the beaded border. The proof fields surrounding the design are deeply mirrored.
