| Additional information |
Laos has no wild tiger population. The species was declared functionally extinct in the country sometime around 2013–2014, making this issue a conservation piece for an animal already lost from Lao territory. The Bank of the Lao PDR has produced a substantial run of wildlife-themed silver bullion coins since the 2000s, most struck under contract by foreign mints and marketed almost entirely to overseas collectors rather than domestic circulation.
