| 背面描述 | Central device presents a highly detailed, high-relief effigy of a Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris) in a frontal prowling stance, with bared fangs, intense forward gaze, and extended forepaws emerging from stylised water splashes. The background field features engraved tropical monstera leaves to the right, evoking the natural habitat of the species. The Latin binomial legend PANTHERA TIGRIS arcs along the left periphery, while the inscription 1 OZ FINE SILVER .999 runs vertically along the right side. The date 2020 appears in the lower right field. |

Laos has no wild tiger population. The species was effectively extirpated from the country by the late twentieth century through deforestation and poaching, making this issue something of an ironic conservation statement from a nation that lost the animal before most such programs began. The coin was produced under a broad series of Lao silver issues targeting the collector market, a revenue stream the Bank of the Lao P.D.R. has relied on heavily since the 1990s given the kip's negligible purchasing power abroad.
