Cameroon's numismatic program has for decades operated less as a national monetary exercise and less more as a licensing arrangement — the country's name and legal tender status applied to coins designed, struck, and marketed entirely by European distributors, principally the Safe/MDM group. This piece exists because Cameroon's government generates revenue by authorizing issues it will never circulate.
The Swarovski crystal insert places it firmly in the early 2020s collector novelty category, when the combination of ruthenium darkening, selective gilding, and branded crystal components became a reliable formula for Asian Lunar series sales.
