| Obverse description | The obverse features an elaborate decorative field filled with finely detailed flowering cherry blossom branches in high relief, framing a central recessed circular insert containing a small gold-colored lucky charm in the form of a stylized fish or Maori-inspired talisman. To the upper right of the field, silhouetted good-luck symbols are visible, including a horseshoe and a four-leaf clover, rendered in mirror-polished relief against a matte background. The legend '500 FRANCS CFA' arcs along the upper rim, while 'REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN' is inscribed vertically along the left side.
