| 表面の銘文 | REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE J. JIMENEZ |
| 裏面の説明 | The reverse features the official emblem of the Albertville 1992 Winter Olympics at center, depicting a stylized flame rendered in high relief with radiating lines, set above sweeping curved lines suggestive of snow or movement. The denomination 500 FRANCS is prominently inscribed to the right of the emblem. The legend XVIES JEUX OLYMPIQUES D'HIVER curves along the upper periphery, while ALBERTVILLE 92 is inscribed in bold capitals along the lower field, flanked by small decorative elements. The date 1990 appears vertically along the left inner field, and the five interlocked Olympic rings are displayed at the base of the design. |

Issued for the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics, this piece was part of a large French commemorative program that ultimately ran to over 100 individual coin types across gold and silver — one of the most expansive Olympic numismatic programs ever produced by a single mint. The sheer volume of issues flooded the collector market and suppressed secondary values across the entire series almost immediately upon release.
Freestyle skiing made its full Olympic debut at Albertville, having been a demonstration sport at Calgary in 1988.
