| Obverse description | Central field features the coat of arms of Cameroon — depicting a shield with a map of the country surmounted by a star, flanked by two crossed fasces — set within a raised inner circle. The denomination '500 FRANCS CFA' appears in bold relief above the arms, with the legend 'REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN' arching along the upper portion of the inner disc. The bilingual motto 'TRAVAIL / WORK' and 'PATRIE / FATHERLAND' flanks the shield to left and right respectively, while the date '2021' and fineness mark 'Ag 999' appear in the lower field on either side of the arms. | Reverse description | Central motif consists of a highly detailed, multicolored scorpion (order Scorpiones) rendered in vivid polychrome enamel applied to a raised disc, presented in a naturalistic dorsal view with claws extended and tail arched. The surrounding disc features the phases of the Moon arranged in sequence around the scorpion, interspersed with additional zodiac imagery. The outer border repeats the ring of twelve zodiac signs in raised relief, consistent with the obverse design, unifying the coin as part of a thematic zodiac series. The rose gold plating gives the entire reverse a warm, lustrous tone contrasting with the colorful central motif. |
