500 Francs Lucky Hours

Cameroon has issued commemorative silver under its own authority since the early post-independence period, but the "Lucky Hours" series belongs to a much more recent phenomenon: the proliferation of themed collector coinage produced almost entirely for the European and Asian novelty market, with no meaningful domestic circulation. The actual minting is contracted to European private mints, most commonly in Poland or Czech Republic, with the CFA franc issuing framework providing nominal legal-tender status.

KM#1018 places this late in an extremely long sequence of Cameroonian commemoratives, the bulk of which post-date 2010.
