| Obverse description | Within a polished proof field, the upper portion of the octagonal flan bears the two-line legend 'REPUBLIQUE / KANAKY' in bold raised letters. The central field displays a colourised composition of traditional Kanak cultural symbols: a stylised ceremonial mask or face motif rendered in blue enamel tones to the left, flanked by a flèche faîtière (Kanak rooftop spear ornament) with a yellow-highlighted sphere at centre and a ribbed vertical column to the right, all executed in relief against the mirror field. The date '2020' appears vertically along the right inner border. |
