The Feast of the Rosary commemorates the 1571 Battle of Lepanto, where the combined Christian fleet of the Holy League defeated the Ottoman navy — an outcome Pope Pius V attributed directly to the intercession of the Virgin Mary through rosary prayer. The feast, then called Our Lady of Victory, was renamed by Pope Gregory XIII the following year and fixed to the first Sunday of October, later standardized to October 7th by Pius X in 1913.
The amber insert is genuine fossilized resin, sourced for inclusion as a natural material with deep Catholic devotional associations dating to medieval relic culture.
