| 裏面の説明 | The reverse features a large portrait bust of Martin Luther in high relief occupying the lower left field, rendered in a sculptural style with detailed facial features. To the right of the portrait, a precisely engraved view of the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) in Dresden is depicted in the lower centre, showing the church's distinctive baroque dome and flanking towers. The upper border is framed by an ornate filigree decorative arch, at the apex of which the Berlin mint mark 'A' and the date 2017 appear. Below the main design, two horizontal lines flank the inscription 500 JAHRE / REFORMATION, with the legend · FRAUENKIRCHE DRESDEN · inscribed immediately above in the lower field. |

The Bank of Central African States — the BEAC — issues commemorative coinage on behalf of six member nations, none of which have any geographical or historical connection to Dresden. This coin exists purely as a bullion-adjacent collectible for export markets, produced under licensing arrangements that allow African monetary authorities to generate revenue from international collector demand. The Frauenkirche itself, reduced to rubble by Allied bombing in February 1945, was left as a ruin by East German authorities for decades as a deliberate anti-war monument before reunification prompted a full reconstruction, completed in 2005.
