| Reverse description | A full-color reproduction of the central figurative detail from Michelangelo's Doni Tondo (circa 1506–1508), the only surviving panel painting by the master, depicting the Holy Family in a tightly interlocked composition of monumental figures rendered in the artist's characteristic sculptural style. The polychrome image is set within a circular format and surrounded by an ornamental laurel wreath that frames the entire design. The background of the coin field beyond the wreath is finished in a contrasting plain surface, emphasizing the painted central medallion. |
