| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Cameroon occupies the central field, depicting a shield with a map of Cameroon and a balance scale, flanked by two crossed fasces and surmounted by a star. The circular legend around the upper rim reads REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN in large raised letters, with the bilingual motto PAIX TRAVAIL PATRIE and PEACE WORK FATHERLAND arranged in three segments around the shield. The denomination 500 FRANCS CFA is inscribed along the lower rim in large bold lettering, with the fineness mark Ag 999 and mint mark MW appearing in small characters beneath the shield. The year of issue 2020 is prominently displayed above the coat of arms. The design is rendered in proof finish with a highly polished field. |

| Reverse description | A vivid full-color reproduction of the central detail from Michelangelo's fresco 'The Creation of the Sun, Moon and Plants,' painted on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel between 1508 and 1512, dominates the reverse field. The scene depicts God the Father in dynamic flight, robes billowing, arms outstretched in an act of divine creation, surrounded by celestial bodies including the sun and moon. At the left margin of the design, Christian iconographic symbols are incorporated as additional decorative elements.
