| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Cameroon occupies the central field, depicting a shield bearing scales of justice surmounted by a five-pointed star, flanked by two crossed fasces with axe-heads, all set against a triangular geometric background with contrasting matte and mirror-finish surfaces. The bilingual legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs along the upper periphery in bold Latin characters, while the denomination 500 FRANCS CFA is inscribed along the lower rim. The date 2019 appears within the coat of arms, and the bilingual inscriptions REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON and REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN are rendered on a scroll beneath the shield. |

Cameroon's modern commemorative silver program has no continuous minting tradition behind it — these issues are produced under licensing arrangements with European minting houses, principally the Monnaie de Paris and various private mints, selling to the international collector market rather than circulating domestically. The cheetah, notably, is not native to Cameroon's rainforest interior; its range is the drier savanna zones of the north, near the borders with Chad and the Central African Republic.
