Bradbury Wilkinson's contract work for Luxembourg ran through several postwar decades, and this 1963 issue came late in that relationship — the firm's intaglio printing gave the series a crispness that cheaper lithographic alternatives couldn't match. The Caisse Générale de l'État, Luxembourg's state cashier rather than a central bank in the conventional sense, issued notes under its own authority until the Institut Monétaire Luxembourgeois absorbed those functions in 1983.
