| 裏面の説明 | A full-length draped and crowned figure of Queen Zenobia of Palmyra stands in the center of the field, rendered in high relief in the classical tradition; she wears a diadem crown and long robes, holding a chain in her hands. The left portion of the reverse features a color-printed panel depicting ancient ruins, identified as the Temple of Bel at Palmyra, with the date 2011 inscribed within a black triangular cartouche overlapping the color panel. The series title GREATEST SHE-WARRIORS and the subject's name ZENOBIA are inscribed along the right rim in a diagonal arrangement. |

Zenobia was the third-century queen of Palmyra who broke from Rome and briefly ruled a breakaway empire stretching from Egypt to Anatolia before Aurelian crushed her forces at Immae in 272 AD. She was never captured in battle — she fled toward Persia and was taken at the Euphrates. Togo's CFA-denominated commemorative series from this period leaned heavily on ancient world figures with no particular connection to West Africa, a pattern common among smaller issuers generating collector revenue rather than circulating currency.
