The field is divided diagonally, with the left half rendered in gold-toned wavy line engraving and the right half in black, creating a striking two-tone effect. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs along the upper rim, with the bilingual national motto PAIX / PEACE at left and PATRIE / FATHERLAND at right, and TRAVAIL / WORK at top centre. The denomination 500 FRANCS CFA appears in large raised letters along the lower arc, and the date 2025 is inscribed in the central field above the arms. Cameroon's CFA franc is issued under the authority of the BEAC — the Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale — which means commemorative collector pieces like this one are technically authorized by a supranational body serving six member states, not by Cameroon alone. The arrangement dates to the post-independence monetary agreements of the early 1960s, when France structured CFA zone membership to maintain the franc's peg and, by extension, French monetary influence across the region.
