Obverse description The central field displays the coat of arms of Cameroon, featuring a shield with scales of justice surmounted by a star, flanked by two crossed fasces with axes, all rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN and 500 FRANCS CFA arcs along the upper portion of the central area, with bilingual mottoes TRAVAIL / WORK and PATRIE / FATHERLAND flanking the arms. The date 2025 appears to the lower left of the shield and the fineness mark Ag999 with the Mint of Poland mintmark (mw) to the lower right. The broad outer border is decorated with all twelve zodiac symbols in raised relief, separated by fine beaded and milled concentric rings.

Additional information

Cameroon's CFA franc is issued under the authority of the BEAC — the Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale — which means commemorative and novelty silver pieces like this one are authorized through a licensing arrangement rather than reflecting any domestic monetary policy decision. The actual striking is invariably contracted to a European mint. Cameroon itself has no minting facility.

The zodiac series to which this belongs targets the collector market almost exclusively; no example of this type has ever seen circulation.
