Cameroon's CFA franc is issued under the authority of the BEAC — the Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale — yet collector pieces like this one are typically produced under licensing arrangements with private mints operating well outside the region, a practice common across francophone African issuing authorities whose nominal sovereignty over coinage bears little relationship to where or how the coins are actually made. Rhodium plating on silver is a relatively recent addition to the novelty coin market, chosen primarily for its extreme hardness and bluish-white reflectivity rather than any historical or numismatic tradition.
