| Obverse description | The polished silver centre disc bears the national coat of arms of Benin, featuring a quartered shield supported by two leopards rampant, with two bull heads conjoined above as crest. A scrolled ribbon below the shield carries the national motto. The legend RÉPUBLIQUE DU BÉNIN arcs along the upper periphery of the silver centre, with the date 2023 appearing in the field above the shield. The denomination 500 FRANCS CFA is inscribed in the lower portion of the centre field, while the broad copper outer ring is decorated with a radiating sunburst pattern of fine milled lines. |

| Reverse description | The silver centre disc features a large stylised heart rendered in fine engraved line work, occupying the majority of the field. Smaller decorative heart motifs and elegant scrollwork are incused into the copper outer ring, continuing the romantic love theme around the full circumference. The fineness mark 999 AG appears in small lettering in the upper field of the silver centre, serving as a hallmark for the silver insert. The overall design is minimalist and decorative, executed in a contemporary commemorative style with strong contrast between the polished silver centre and the textured copper ring. |

| Additional information |
Benin has no independent monetary authority — it is a member of the West African Economic and Monetary Union, and its coinage is issued through the BCEAO. The "Love" series, like most Beninese collector issues, was produced under licensing arrangements with European minting houses targeting the novelty bullion market rather than any domestic circulation need. These pieces are legal tender in name only.
