Cameroon's use of the CFA franc places it within the CEMAC monetary zone, where coinage decisions are nominally coordinated through the Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale — yet collector issues like this one are typically licensed through private minting intermediaries with little involvement from that institution. The legal tender status is real; the circulation ambition is not.
The jaguar is not native to Africa, which makes its appearance on a Cameroonian coin a straightforward concession to global bullion market demand rather than any zoological or cultural logic.
