| 背面描述 | Full-colour reproduction of 'Indian Summer' (Polish: Babie Lato), the celebrated oil painting created in 1875 by Polish realist master Józef Chełmoński. The composition depicts a young, barefoot Ukrainian peasant girl reclining in an autumnal field, her raised hand delicately holding a shimmering strand of gossamer spider silk against the open sky. A black dog rests attentively at her side, while a distant, barely discernible herd grazes on the horizon. The scene is rendered with the warm, luminous tones characteristic of Chełmoński's realist style, reproduced on the silver flan through digital colour printing. |

The "Indian Summer" issue is part of a sprawling series of themed silver pieces struck for Cameroonian account by European private mints — almost certainly Monnaie de Paris or a Central European contractor — bearing the BEAC franc denomination despite having no realistic circulation role in the CFA zone. Cameroon's legal tender framework permits these collector issues, but they are marketed entirely to Western and Asian numismatic buyers.
KM#838 is a recent addition to what has become an enormous catalog of such pieces from franc zone African issuers since the 2010s.
