| Additional information |
Cameroon's legal tender collector coin program is administered through the Monnaie de Paris under framework agreements that allow the French mint to produce issues on behalf of franc-zone African states — a commercial arrangement that has nothing to do with Cameroonian monetary policy and everything to do with the European bullion and numismatic novelty market. The actual Central African CFA franc, Cameroon's circulating currency, has been pegged to the euro since 1999.
This Capricorn piece is one entry in a twelve-coin zodiac series. Selective gilding on these issues is applied by laser or chemical masking post-strike at the Pessac facility.
