Obverse description A traditional African carved wooden mask occupies the left side of the note, while the central vignette presents a herd of Zebu cattle in open pasture, accompanied by a herdsman at right. The denomination and issuing bank name appear in intaglio lettering across the upper and lower registers of the face.

Reverse description An oil palm tree anchors the left portion of the design, with a central aerial vignette of a traditional African village settlement, and a carved wooden mask at right forming a visual counterpart to the obverse motif. The warning inscription against forgery runs along the lower margin in French.
