| Reverse description | Reproduction of 'The Baptism of Christ', the celebrated painting executed by Andrea del Verrocchio and Leonardo da Vinci between 1472 and 1475, now housed in the Uffizi Gallery, Florence. The composition depicts Christ standing in the River Jordan being baptized by Saint John the Baptist, with two angels kneeling at left and the dove of the Holy Spirit descending from above. The scene is rendered in fine detail across the square flan, faithfully reproducing the original tempera and oil composition. |
