| Obverse description | The central field features the coat of arms of Cameroon, comprising a shield bearing a balance of justice surmounted by a five-pointed star, flanked by two crossed fasces and supported by crossed olive branches, all rendered in high relief against a finely engraved wavy background. A scroll at the base of the arms bears the bilingual inscriptions REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON and REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN. The national motto appears in both French and English in two columns flanking the shield: PAIX / PEACE to the left and PATRIE / FATHERLAND to the right, with TRAVAIL / WORK above. Cameroon's CFA franc is issued under the authority of the BEAC — the central bank shared across six Central African states — which means Cameroon itself has no independent monetary authority to authorize commemorative coinage. These silver issues are instead produced under licensing arrangements with private minting companies, typically European, targeting the collector market entirely. No example of this type ever circulated in Cameroon.
