| Obverse description | At center, the coat of arms of Cameroon is rendered in high relief, depicting a shield bearing a central star above two crossed fasces, flanked by decorative supporters. The twelve zodiac symbols are evenly distributed around the circumference of the coin within the outer border. The upper arc carries the legend 'REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN' and the denomination '500 FRANCS CFA' in raised Latin lettering, while the bilingual national motto 'PAIX TRAVAIL PATRIE / PEACE WORK FATHERLAND' flanks the arms laterally.
