Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse presents a bold, modernist geometric design by engraver Raymond Michel, evoking the cross-sectional form of twin rail tunnels rendered in stylized circular and diagonal elements. Two large interlocking circles dominate the field, their interiors incised with parallel diagonal lines suggestive of tunnel bores and rail tracks. The engraver's signature R. MICHEL appears in small letters at the lower left of the field. The monogram RF (République Française) is incused in the lower right portion of the design. The overall composition is abstract and architectural in character, with a mirror-polished proof finish accentuating the sculptural relief.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse displays a dynamic modernist composition incorporating a stylized map silhouette of France and England separated by the English Channel, rendered in low relief against the polished field. Diagonal lines suggestive of the tunnel bore sweep across the design from lower left to upper right, visually connecting the two nations. The dual denomination '75 ECUS' appears prominently in the upper portion of the field in bold stylized numerals, with '500 FRANCS' rendered in large lettering across the lower half. The inscription 'TUNNEL SOUS LA MANCHE' is placed along the left side of the field in three lines, and the date '1994' appears in the exergue area at the base of the design.
