Obverse description Intaglio-printed in green on paper with an elaborate guilloche border, the outer frame carries a repeating trilingual denomination legend in three languages. At left stands a large allegorical female figure in classical drapery rendered in three-quarter view and holding a staff, while a putto vignette occupies a decorative cartouche at lower right. The central text panel bears the bank name in German, French, and Italian, the statutory law reference, the denomination in bold letterpress, the date "BERN & ZÜRICH, 1. Two circular medallion vignettes flank the central oval, each enclosing a left-facing classical female portrait bust within an engine-turned ring of denomination numerals. Rectangular "500" panels occupy each corner, and the full field is enclosed by a fine guilloche border with the denomination repeated in the outer legend band.
