Robert Poughéon was a Prix de Rome laureate whose work appeared across multiple French colonial note series in the postwar decade — his involvement here places this issue squarely within the Banque de France's house aesthetic of the period, where metropolitan printing standards were applied uniformly to the overseas territories. Armanelli and Beltrand were both established Banque de France engravers, their division of labor between obverse and reverse a routine internal arrangement rather than anything exceptional.
The six-year date range reflects how long individual print batches from this series remained in legal tender, not multiple distinct printings. Algeria's transition to independence in 1962 rendered the entire series obsolete within a few years of the last issues leaving Paris.
