Obverse description The centre of the note carries the bank name and denomination in monogram form within an elaborate vignette. To the left, a female head appears above a city view, while to the right a portrait of William Tell is similarly set above a cityscape. Along the lower centre, the Lion Monument of Lucerne is rendered in intaglio, flanked on either side by the serial number.

Reverse description The reverse is arranged around a central vignette of the winged head of Mercury set between the bank name in monogram form, all within a guilloche border. Decorative denomination numerals occupy each corner, with the bank name rendered in French along the upper register.
