| Opmerkingen |
Printed in New Malden by Bradbury Wilkinson during the German occupation of Belgium, this note was part of a wartime exile production run — the Banque Nationale's physical operations had been severely disrupted, and British-printed issues allowed the institution to maintain some continuity of monetary authority from outside occupied territory. The "belgas" unit, introduced in 1926 as a stabilization measure equal to five francs, was already being phased out by this point; its presence here is something of an anachronism, and it disappeared from Belgian currency within two years of liberation.
