| 正面描述 | The national coat of arms of Equatorial Guinea is centrally displayed, depicting a shield bearing a silk-cotton tree (Ceiba pentandra) above a scroll bearing the national motto in three parts: UNIDAD, PAZ, and JUSTICIA. Six six-pointed stars arc above the shield, representing the mainland and the island territories. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE GUINEA ECUATORIAL runs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 500 FRANCOS CFA is inscribed along the lower field. |

Equatorial Guinea's use of the CFA franc is itself a bureaucratic oddity — the country is the only member of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) whose population is predominantly Spanish-speaking, a remnant of its colonial history under Spain rather than France. It joined the franc zone in 1985 strictly for monetary stability, not linguistic or cultural affinity.
This lunar issue was struck for the collector market; no meaningful circulation ever occurred.
