Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, wearing traditional Gulf keffiyeh secured by an agal, rendered in high relief with finely modelled facial features and garment detail. The effigy, sculpted by engraver Michael Rizzello, occupies the central field without peripheral legend or inscription. The reeded border frames the portrait with a clean, uncluttered composition characteristic of commemorative medallic coinage.

Reverse description At centre, a crowned coat of arms is set within an octagonal border, with the town name, state name, dual-calendar dates, and denomination rendered in both Arabic and English surrounding the device. The bilingual legends appear in concentric arrangement: the Arabic text bears the inscription مدينة عيسى البحرين and the Hijri date ١٣٨٨, while the English text reads ISA TOWN BAHRAIN 1968 and the denomination is stated as ٥٠٠ فلس and 500 FILS. The overall design commemorates the founding of Isa Town, a planned urban development in Bahrain.
