The Bankarium in Ljubljana is Slovenia's banking museum, operated under the auspices of Banka Slovenije. This 500 Euro piece is a souvenir or educational item produced by the museum — not legal tender and not issued by any central bank or monetary authority. Its face value references the genuine ECB 500 Euro note, the largest denomination in the euro series, which was discontinued for new issuance by the Eurosystem in 2019 amid concerns about its use in large-scale cash transactions, though existing notes remain legal tender indefinitely.

Worth nothing as currency. Potentially useful as a teaching prop, which is presumably the point.
