| 备注 |
Cabo Verde's central bank was only established in 1975, immediately after independence from Portugal, and for several years the country relied on transitional currency arrangements before developing its own distinct note series. By the late 1980s, the Banco de Cabo Verde was commissioning Thomas De La Rue for higher-denomination work — a common arrangement for Lusophone African states that lacked domestic printing infrastructure.
The P#59 500 Escudos is the only security feature on record for this issue being a watermark alone, which is relatively minimal for a De La Rue product of this period.
