| Beschrijving voorzijde | Obverse of this Banco Nacional Ultramarino cheque bears the bank's title in ornate script across the top, with series designation 'U-Serie C' and 'Sede em Lisboa' flanking the centre. To the left, an oval vignette lists the bank's territorial jurisdictions including Lisboa, Ilhas Adjacentes, Continente, Africa Oriental, China, India, and Timor. The body of the cheque carries printed Portuguese-language payment text ordering the sum of quinhentos escudos (500$00), with a large red 'ORIGINAL' overprint diagonally across the face, cheque number 200244, place and date of issue 'S. Tomé, 31 de Dezembro de 1974', and two manuscript signatures on behalf of Banco Nacional Ultramarino. |
