Obverse description The coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia occupies the central field, depicting a double-headed eagle displayed with wings spread, supporting a shield charged with symbols of historical Armenian kingdoms, flanked by a lion and an eagle as supporters. Below the arms, the denomination '500' appears in large numerals, followed by 'ԴՐԱՄ' (Dram) in Armenian script. The date '1995', flanked by decorative floral ornaments, is inscribed at the base. The Armenian legend 'ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ' (Republic of Armenia) curves around the upper periphery in Armenian Erkat'agir script.
